As a new University of Austin student when I first heard about SHU, I was amazed by how unique and one of a kind the firm was. When you go to a consulting firm's website, you typically see a range of different services offered, but what is special about SHU is that it focuses on all areas of life -from the educational, to the professional, personal, and spiritual.

As soon as I heard about the firm, I immediately knew I wanted to be part of a company which mission is to help individuls be a better version of themselves. What kept me in SHU for 2 years, was the genuineness of the people involved. These superheroes know how to utilize their knowledge and resources to help people overcome hurdles and reach their goals.

A few years ago, I was going through a major life transition where I did not have the financial support to sustain myself, causing a lot of stress. SHU ensured I found a solution by offering multiple resources to keep me moving in life not only for the short-term, but also in the long-term.

I met Tracey at TAPS - The Senior Leader Transition Assistance Program briefing. There is where a bunch of bull headed, stubborn old and disgruntled military senior leaders get in a room and receive a bunch of briefings, in an attempt to help us effectively transition out of the military. In this briefing I had the honor of listening to this bold and highly energetic professional woman begin to educate this group of senior leaders. This group had to easily have well over 300 years of collective experience, led hundreds of thousands of Soldiers and have deployed on numerous occasions. To many people this would be an intimidating crowd of people. Not this Warrior Woman. I watched as she worked the room and began to pull energy out of each one of those old grumpy leaders.  Here is a professional and dedication leader of people providing us a briefing on how to be a change agent in the world and all they could do is see themselves selfishly.

Superhero University has really pulled me out of a tough place, almost like a darkness, you could say. The program and all of you have truly rescued me from the life I was living before. Through Superhero University, I've learned how to mature, absorb knowledge, and embrace being a student—soaking up all the insights I can to one day become an exceptional mentor and a successful businessman myself.

Less than 6 months ago I was working as a clinical researcher who was dismissed from my position via text the same day I started attending Be Your Own Boss through Fort Cavazos. As I started working with Tracey I saw that I was taking on the burden of my workload of my work team so they wouldn't become stressed out and working long hours as I did.  My Mom raised me with a high work ethic and I thought that meant working alot.  Tracey showed me I had skills to teach and help my team become the leaders they are and not to let them just ride along.  With guidance, I was able to re-evaluate their skills, train where they were lacking and build a team of leaders instead of just workers.  I was able to step back because they were given the opportunity to become and develop into a stronger team.  this gave me alot of confidence to see that just a little redirection of my thoughts, I had not only improved but they had too. 

As I faced my fear of going through my deceased parents' things, I was able to feel better about moving forward.  I had become me and not what the person they always told me I was.  With my daughter helping me, I took off time from work and I went through 17 boxes. There are alot more, but what a good 1st try.  I am pleased.  This was a great feat, I was able to meet with my extended family at Christmas and offer up things from the past and surprisingly not one thing was taken.  I was sad at first, but the work I had accomplished with Tracey gave me the ability to give the items away and throw some away.  I actually felt good, I gave everyone a chance to have what they wanted and I wasn't burdened with it all.
